Reminder: Plan Ahead
Make sure that changes driven by your IT department will not affect SunSystems.
Many of our clients have already upgraded to the latest SunSystems version and many more are in the planning stage.
At our last inTouch seminar we talked about the sort of technology changes to be aware of. Do you need to plan ahead to make sure your SunSystems remains reliable?
What typical technology changes could impact SunSystems?
- SQL Server 2005 & 2008
- Windows Server 2008
- Windows Vista
- Windows 7
- Office 2007
- Virtual Server (virtualisation) deployments
- Oracle database upgrades
Should you upgrade? If your business has grown, changed or evolved, then it may be a good time to take advantage of the benefits and the new functionality that SunSystems v5.4 has to offer you.
Avoid unnecessary risks – staying on the latest released SunSystems versions & PatchSets reduces unplanned expenditure for emergency action and wasteful down-time and work-arounds.
Know your options – there are many enhancements between the older SunSystems versions and the latest v5.4 & v4.3 that may better suit your business needs e.g. more flexibility, extended functionality, better reporting – all with a more modern yet still familiar look & feel.
Remain support compliant – ensure that your operating systems and database versions are compliant with the SunSystems version you are on.
Your Next Actions:
To help you plan ahead ask your IT department to discuss what plans they may have.
Call your Professional Advantage Account Manager to find out in more detail how these changes could affect SunSystems and what your options are.
